Pirate Storytime

I’m going to try to structure each month around a different letter and then each week the stories will all be about a word starting with that letter. September is all about the letter P.

The Books

Goodnight Pirate by Michelle Robinson

Pi-Rat! by Maxine Lee

Songs, Rhymes & Fun

I introduced them to “Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear Turn Around”

We also played with felt pieces going through the colors and numbers.

The Books

Shiver Me Letters by June Sobel

Bubble Bath Pirates! by Jarrett J. Krosoczka

Songs, Rhymes & Fun

We played with the felt pieces again and did color and numbers.

The Craft

We made our own pirate faces! I cut out simple pirate hat shapes out of black construction paper. They used paper plates for the faces and went to town!

The kids enjoyed this storytime. They LOVED Shiver Me Letters. They had a blast finding all the hidden letters.
