I’m going to try to structure each month around a different letter and then each week the stories will all be about a word starting with that letter. September is all about the letter P.
This week’s word were prince and princess.
Goodnight Princess by Michelle Robinson
Prince of a Frog by Jackie Urbanovic
We played with felt pieces.
I think they enjoyed it well enough. I was a bit disappointed in the selection of prince books. We had lots of princess books but not many prince books.
My Rules for Being a Pretty Princess by Heath McKenzie
Kiss Me! I’m a Prince! by Adam Rubin
We played with the felt pieces again this time talking about shapes.
I also started to teach them how to count to 10 in sign language.
Paper plate crowns! Simply fold up a paper plate and cut on the folds from the center. Let the kids color and then fold out the points on the crown.
I had primarily girls at this storytime so they had fun with princesses! Everyone enjoyed making a crown.
