Quack Storytime

I’m going to try to structure each month around a different letter and then each week the stories will all be about a word starting with that letter. November is all about the letter Q.

This week’s word was duck.

The Books

Tickle the Duck! by Ethan Long

Quack! by Arthur Yorinks

Songs, Rhymes & Fun

As usual, we played with our felt pieces & puppets.

I was surprised that so many of them were unsure of tickling the duck. I thought they would love that. Oh well, they did enjoy the new rhymes.

The Books

Clumsy Duck by Britta Teckentrup

Duck! Rabbit! by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

Duck Duck Moose! by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen

Songs, Rhymes & Fun

We went through out our felt pieces and I called out shapes.

The Craft

I cut out Duck/Rabbit shapes out of white paper. I had them make their own Duck/Rabbit puppets and glue them to craft sticks.

It was a cute little puppet.

It was a super small group so it’s hard to say how they felt about the storytime.
