Snake Storytime

I’m going to try to structure each month around a different letter and then each week the stories will all be about a word starting with that letter. December is all about the letter S.

I only had babies and toddlers this week. We had a dance group come for preschool storytime.

This week’s word was snake.

A Snake!

Here’s a box
[Make a fist as if holding a bunch of flowers.]
And here’s a lid.
[Cover with palm of other hand.]
I wonder whatever inside is hid?
[Pause and peek.]
Why, it’s a SNAKE!
[Quickly throw up hands.]

As usual, we played with our felt pieces & puppets.

verdict

I did snakes for our theme with a particular toddler in mind. I was a bit disappointed that we didn’t have better snake books. We had fun with doing opposites and looking for the snake though.
